APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Decluttering guru Marie Kondo has become such a superstar that when she gives talks in her home country of Japan, there’s a waiting list for the waiting list. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up is about much more than making your home neat; it’s about resetting your entire life. Some of Kondo’s methods are startling (thank your possessions before you get rid of them), but much of her advice is imminently practical. Her notion that you should only keep things that give you joy makes this compact book a little life-changer.
Customer Reviews
Begins well, but loses usefulness towards the end
The first half of this book, outlining Konmari's overarching principles of tidying and the order she recommends, is helpful. The second half has a few useful comments in it, but lots of it is waffling and, quite frankly, nonsense. I don't regret reading it and I'll refer to the first half during the act of tidying, but I'd never bother with the second half again.
Hire a helper instead
I must have had high expectations, it just didn't deliver. Hire a house helper instead and learn from them.
