In Tally’s world, looks are all that matters. And now that she’s finally undertaken the surgery to become a ‘Pretty’, everything seems perfect: her looks are flawless, her clothes are cool, her boyfriend is totally gorgeous, and she's completely popular.
But beneath the fun of non-stop parties, high-tech luxury and apparent total freedom, Tally can’t stop a nagging sense that something is wrong. Something important. Then a message from her ‘Ugly’ past arrives, forcing Tally to remember the truth she learned before her transformation, and the fun stops cold. Because the true price of this perfect world is more than Tally is willing to pay…

Not worth the time.
I read the first book thinking, “hey, why not?”. The first book was okay in storyline. Actually, the whole concept behind the book was pretty good. What was not good was the actual writing and characters. The same goes for all three books.
By the end of the first book, I had to coax myself into reading the second book. Now, here’s where everything goes out the window. The characters are not developed at ALL. They are all the exact same person, there’s nothing unique about a single one of them. I couldn’t tell you what the character’s hobbies, birthdays, their age, their home situation or even their personalities, which really ties this book down. You don’t understand how important a good, relatable character is to the plot. In this book, there was no good, relatable character. They were all robots, nothing special about them.
Also, the nicknames and slang in this book is so terrible I can’t even express it in words. ‘Hey Zane-la!”, “What, Tally-wa?, “Look over at Shay-la over there!”. These nicknames aren’t even explained. They also get so irritating, I nearly threw the book into a fire. Also, the word ‘bubbly’ comes up quite a lot. Scott, what the hell is ‘bubbly’? The author doesn’t take the time to explain what the hell this even means, yet it’s used the whole way through. The same goes for the third book, what the hell is ‘icy’ supposed to mean?
Lastly, all the stupid cliches. There are so many cliches in this book, it’s beyond annoying. There are cliches like; the crazy best friend, the love triangle, the brooding bad boy who isn’t so bad, the good boy who isn’t so good, the main character stuck in it all, the main character beliving she isn’t beautiful until some guy tells her she is, the character beliving she is nothing special, the whole ‘you’re a God’ thing, and so much more.
One last thing, the whole part where the villagers think Tally is a God is so stupid I can’t even explain. Thanks
