Strange medieval tale, full of plot twists and turns, set on the Isle of Demons, close to England, Scotland, and Ireland.
Ferne is the heir to both sides of the Isle of Demons, and Jarred marries her to secure his rule and title as Lord of the Isles. His friend and fool, Owen, helps her recover from her paralysing fear of being sold to the Scottish. A cast of strangely twisted characters keeps the plot surprising.
Excellent
This book astonished me with its story about the relationships and characters of its time. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the complexity and care the characters were given and really couldn’t stop reading it. So much so I’ve done a very rare review! 😀
