He's the best man . . . and that's the problem.
Kristen Petersen is perfectly fine. She has friends she'd fight to the death for and the very best dog in the world: Stuntman Mike. In fact, everything's calm in the world of Kristen, until she starts to plan her best friend's wedding and meets the best man, Josh Copeland.
Josh is funny, sexy, stands up to her sarcasm, and is always one snack ahead of her hangry. Even Stuntman Mike adores him. But he wants a big family, and Kristen knows children are probably not a part of her future.
She's sure he'd be better off with someone else, someone who can give him everything he wants, so Kristen keeps him at arm's length: in the Friend Zone. But as their attraction grows, it's harder and harder to resist falling for the man who seems to be everything she's not allowed to have . . .

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
We’re confident you’ll find The Friend Zone as delightful as we did, whether it’s your first romance novel or your 107th. Kristen and Josh’s first meeting can’t quite be called auspicious, but the more they get to know each other, the harder it becomes to stay away. Despite how much they like each other, there’s a problem—or, actually, many problems. Abby Jimenez’s emotionally complex story doesn’t shy away from the complicated realities of life, diving into infertility, family expectations, and relationship obligations. As Kristen and Josh attempt to sort out their issues, Jimenez’s witty and acerbic writing kept us laughing even when we were holding back tears.

Promising storyline that- almost!- fell short
I initial rated this with a hard lined perspective- I indeed, I do agree with a couple of my points.
HOWEVER having reading another of Abby Jimenez’s books, absolutely loving it, and coveting anything else she has written I have worked my way through all of them, loved them all, and finally gave up resisting reading this I had to read it again.
I definitely raté all her other books higher(*****) but the intertwined characters is masterful. And to learn at the end of every one of her books about the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ which her books are individually woven is so refreshing and makes the enjoyment more meaningful.
I can’t wait for her next book.
Another excellent book
I love the happy escapism of these books!
I think they all need to be made into movies
A great book
After reading the Happily Ever Playlist and falling in love and extremely sad it ended, I searched for more books that Abby had written. I came across this book, 'The Friend Zone' and found out it was actually Part 1. I had read Part 2 first, but it did not matter, and actually, I love that I read them the opposite way. This follows the story of the friend and her journey, which touched my heart. I felt a part of the book, a part of their lives and the story. The book had me smiling, sheading a tear, and every emotion in-between. The only thing wrong with this book(s) is that I will never experience reading them again for the first time.
