Publisher Description
The Earl of Buckleigh was once an untitled misfit, tormented at Oxford. Now, he’s overcome his challenges and is eager for the future, especially when his oldest and dearest friend, Bianca, needs help to save the annual holiday party. Ash has a plan to rescue the event, but when the bullies from his youth are up to their old tricks, he must risk everything to put the past behind him and find true love.
Furious when her brother refuses to host the St. Stephen’s Day party, Lady Bianca Stafford is committed to giving the villagers their celebration. In Ash, she sees salvation for their local tradition, and perhaps a future she never expected. But her brother has other plans for her—a Season and marriage, and not to Ash. When disaster strikes, everything she cares about is threatened and it will take a miracle—or a hero—to save the day.
The Red Hot Earl is inspired by the song and story, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Be sure to check out the Red Hot Earl version of the song on my website at darcyburke.com!

Loyalty and love
This is the first novella in a Christmas trilogy by Darcy Burke. The three siblings will all hopefully find their HEA by the time the traditional St Stephen’s Day celebration takes place.
In this book Bianca reunites with her long ago friend who is now the Earl of Buckleigh. Bianca is a loyal and loving young lady who has spent the last few years tending to her father and supporting her local community. When her brother refuses to have anything to do with celebration she seeks help elsewhere. When she meets up with Ash, at a house party, they have an instant connection helped along by their past as children. Bianca is determined enough to go after what she wants and she wants Ash and the St Stephen’s Day tradition.
Ash has a condition which gives him ticks and involuntary verbalisations. I found that when he describes it as a disease it annoyed me. He has attempted to control this through boxing. He is the victim of bullying by men he went to school with and he has greater forbearance than they deserve. He is loving, loyal and capable of endless compassion.
This is a fast paced story due to its length. The St Stephen’s Day celebration seems set to become a recurring theme. If you like Christmas novellas then I’d put this on on your list of TBR’s.
