I want to.
I can’t.
I’ve been friends with Cooper Rice from the moment we met. He was just as famous a decade ago on our college campus as he is now being the star quarterback for the Chicago Grizzlies.
But he’s not only talented on the field, he’s also the gorgeous football star women fawn over, posing in underwear and razor ads.
Here’s a secret those women don’t know—Cooper Rice isn’t a playboy. He’s the kind of man who wants to settle down with a family. He’s content ordering pizza and massaging my feet after my long shift as an emergency room doctor. He listens to me as if he’s as invested as I am in my patients. He has never let me down.
This is exactly why I refuse to live without Cooper in my life. Eight years ago, I made him promise me that we’d never cross that line. And just like I knew Cooper would, he’s held to that promise.
Despite our best efforts, our relationship is evolving, shifting into new territory and I find myself unsure if I want Cooper to keep that promise. Ignoring the obvious could tear us apart, but so could giving in, meaning there’s a chance I’ll lose Cooper forever no matter what decision I make.

Cooper and Ellery!
Cooper has been in love with his best friend Ellery since they were in college, but he has always respected that she wasn’t willing to cross the line between friends to lovers. When she starts dating a fellow teammate it will finally force them to face their true feelings for each other.
Ellery is a doctor who has always remained focused on her career plan. There have been times she has considered crossing the line with Cooper but was always afraid to jeopardize their relationship until she realizes that is happening regardless and choices will finally have to be made.
Everyone in their lives know that Cooper and Ellery belong together and even though there was some angst to overcome I enjoyed every minute of seeing them realize it as well. This was a wonderful end to this series, and I am looking forward to seeing where this author is taking us next. The portrayal of the narrators draws you into the relationship between the characters as well as everything they were feeling.
Great Friends-to-lovers Romance!
This is the third book in the Chicago Grizzlies Series, a Sports Romance. Cooper and Ellory's story is beautifully written, emotional, sweet, and heartwarming. This is a great friends-to-lovers, slow burn second chance romance. Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder did an excellent job bringing these characters, and this story to life. I enjoyed it. I highly recommend this series.
