Another Fox Bites the Dust

I enjoyed this story. Mindy, having lost her job and clout in the music industry due to a scandalous and failed romantic relationship with a musician client, decides to take a chance on establishing her own record label with a new musician, Luke. What she doesn’t know is that Luke has crippling stage fright. Kind of a problem when your contract stipulates live performances and recording requires playing in front of people too. They also have to contend with their growing attraction and affection towards each other, which is a big problem considering Mindy’s history. Luke was a great MMC and just such a good guy. His care for people around him was lovely. He faced his own struggles with his stage fright and grief, but he was always so supportive. I struggled a bit to connect with Mindy initially, I think mainly over her relationship with a married man. It helped a little as it became more clear that he had not been honest with her about the status of his marriage. And her determination and tenacity as she worked to rebuilt her position in the industry and establish Luke’s career was admirable. Not to mention her support and patience when she finally learned of his stage fright.

Mindy’s family is heavily involved for most of the story, and it was great to see the family work through some difficult things. It was also fun to see their more lighthearted interactions. Luke’s family also makes an appearance. This is the third book in the series about all the Fox siblings so there is background and carryover from the previous books, but there is enough explanation that this story can be read alone if one wishes to. Of course the best reader experience will be to read the series in order. This is an open door story with frequent strong harsh language.

I really enjoyed Luke and Mindy’s love story. Both have tragic losses in their lives that have affected their relationships with family and live interests. Mindy is coping with the break up of a musician client and losing her job because of it and swears off dating any musicians again. She needs Luke to kick start her new company and their shared experience of loss brings them closer together and ultimately they cannot deny their feelings for each other. The story is easy to read and hard to put down. Looking forward to reading more in this series. I was proved an ARC in exchange for leaving an honest review.

Another Fox Bites the Dust is sweet, soulful, funny and just makes you smile. Having another installment of the Fox family is like going to a family reunion and meeting up with your loved ones all over again. Luke quickly became one of my favorite leading men and his sweet supportive nature was such a nice departure from the all to common alpha male. I absolutely love the Fox family and can’t wait for the next book!
