This book is brutal, heart wrenching and very painful to read. One has to take a break every so often just to get the wretched, malevolent images out of one's head. I've come close to vomiting at the sheer evil exhibited by Roy. Charlee, Jay and Nathan all have incredible inner strength given what they've experienced. They have so many momentous obstacles to overcome and yet they don't lose hope. It's awe inspiring. Brilliantly written. All I can say is: "Thank God, my life is ordinary and "normal" and I get my scary "excitement" from books. Brutal, Heart wrenching and Brilliant!
