Crazy for You

This series is amazingly addictive! This is Julianna and Nolan’s journey. Julianna is recently divorced with 4 year old twin girls , who’s moved back home to Annapolis where her family lives and plans on opening a B&B. Her self confidence is shattered as well as her trust in others due to some psychological abuse inflicted by her ex husband. She needs a contractor to renovate her B&B and Nolan’s the man for the job. He’s very talented and creative and is part owner with his brothers in Morrison Brothers Construction. Nolan’s has issues with commitment and relationships; he doesn’t do them. However, when he sees and meets Julianna , his reaction to her is a real game changer. This story is very emotional, heartwarming and addictive. A definite read!

I decided to read this book because the cover artwork caught my eye and the summary of the book seemed interesting (probably because I’m married to a contractor myself).

Sadly, the only two things interesting about this book were the cover and the summary. The cover suggested a sexy/hot romance novel but this was anything but.

I didn’t find the main characters interesting at all. Their relationship was slow to develop and by the end of the book (which took me several weeks to finish because I kept falling asleep while reading it) I wasn’t even convinced they were really falling for each other.

Besides the two main characters being somewhat boring and under-developed, I think too much of the story focused on Julianna’s two daughters. I’m a mother myself and this book made me realize that the last thing I want to do when trying to escape my own life, with the help of a romance novel, is read about someone else’s kids.

I’m sure this book will be interesting to some readers but it simply wasn’t for me.
