He’s a brilliant inventor, but he’ll decimate anyone who threatens his woman.
When the Kings of the Castle recommend Calvin Atwood, strategic defense inventor, to create a security shield for the kingdom of Durabia, it's the opportunity of a lifetime. The only problem—it’s a two-year assignment and he promised his fiancée they would step away from their dangerous lifestyle and start a family.
Security specialist, Mia Jakob, adores Calvin with all her heart, but his last assignment put both of their lives at risk. She understands how important this new role is to the man she loves, but the thought that he may be avoiding commitment does cross her mind.
Calvin was sure he’d made the best decision for his and Mia’s future, until enemies of the state target his invention and his woman. Set on a collision course with hidden foes, this Knight will need the help of the Kings to save both his Queen and the Kingdom of Durabia.

4.25stars-edgy and dramatic
4.25 stars--KNIGHT OF SOUTH HOLLAND is the third instalment in the multi-authored, contemporary, adult KNIGHTS OF THE CASTLE multi-cultural romance series-a spin off from the Kings of the Castle series. This is inventor Calvin Atwood, and security specialist Mia Jakob’s story line. KNIGHT OF SOUTH HOLLAND can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Several characters cross over for cohesion and familiarity. There is a slight sci-fi premise in the aforementioned title.
NOTE: Mia and Calvin’s story begins in the novelette The Confection Assignment. Although it is not necessary to have read, there are a number of scenarios and characters critical to, and cross over with the current timeline, and in this, I recommend reading The Confection Assignment for backstory and history.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Mia and Calvin) KNIGHT OF SOUTH HOLLAND follows Calvin Atwood as he is tasked with perfecting his latest invention. The Emperor’s Suit Project camouflages the wearer by making them appear invisible, an invention he was directing at the military in the aftermath of his brother’s death, while serving in the Middle East. The Kings of the Castle are hoping Calvin is able to upgrade his invention to a city sized domed shield, in an effort to protect the royal kingdom in Durabia but time away from his fiancé Mia Jakob threatens the tentative hold on their current relationship, a relationship that is vulnerable with the appearance of someone from Mia’s past. As the Kings of Durabia, and his parents, continue to put pressure on our story line hero, Calvin finds himself the target of some very powerful men. Meanwhile, Mia begins to question her relationship with Calvin, their time together, the current direction of Calvin’s work, and the circumstance surrounding her latest assignment, an assignment that brings our heroine up close and personal with sins of the past.
KNIGHT OF SOUTH HOLLAND is an intriguing story of suspense; of family, relationships, and secrets; of trust, doubt, and power. The premise is edgy and dramatic; the characters are spirited and captivating; the romance struggles in the face of too many obstacles, and the pressure from too many outside sources.
