Publisher Description
Minor league player Stone Dumelin lost his younger brother when the Titans’ team plane went down. He never expected the phone call that followed.
After a shoulder injury put my NHL career on ice, I resigned myself to the fact I’d never see my way out of the minor league again. As my career faded, my estranged brother’s star shot into orbit as the first line left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans. But when the team’s plane crashed returning home one night, his light was snuffed out, and I was given the opportunity of a lifetime.
Now I’m in Pittsburgh, playing for the Titans, and face-to-face with my dead brother’s ghost at every turn. His locker, his legacy, his persistent and annoyingly gorgeous attorney who won’t stop contacting me about his estate, even though I’ve demanded she leave me alone.
Harlow Alston would be extremely appealing if she wasn’t so aggravating. Only…that’s a complete lie. She pushes all the right buttons for me, and as much as I want her to quit pestering me about Brooks’s estate, I find myself intrigued by the fiery redhead who can’t take no for an answer. And the more I learn about Harlow, the more I find she might be the key to understanding who Brooks really was, and who I want to be.
I’ve got a second shot at a career I thought I’d lost and the opportunity to build something real with Harlow, but can I find strength to move forward or will my past dictate my future?

Stone is trying to start his life over again after losing his brother but his ghost and a persistent lawyer are making that difficult. Harlow is determined to get Stone to realize who his brother really was. Stone's life may be turning around for the better.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster. Stone and Harlow both had their demons that they needed to work through but thanks to Brooks, Stone and Harlow were able to meet, become friends, and later more. I enjoyed the gradual growth of Stone and Harlow's relationship.
I am looking forward to the continuation of the Pittsburgh Titans series.
Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson were the perfect narrators for Stone and Harlow. They did a great job of bringing the characters and their story to life.
Stone is a... sports (hockey), brother's best friend, lawyer, slow burn romance told in the dual first-person point-of-view.
Stone Hot
There are sometimes when you see the cover of a book and go…no way not even close to the story! This cover hot hot hot just like our imperfect Stone! Loved him. While reeling from his brothers death Stone faces demons of his own with the help of his brothers friend Harlow. The story is exactly what I expect from Sawyer and in a series it is hard to deliver the heat but it delivers. It gives us so much insight into Brooks while it opens Stone right up so we can see his fears and weaknesses. Harlow has her own but she is the perfect balm for Stone. Love Odin the irresistible dog…who gives Stone a run for his money. Enjoyed it from start to finish! So good….
Moving forward
Stone Dumelin is Brooks brother and after being drafted in the new Titans , Stone feels like a fraud living in his brother's shadow and glory. After being contacted by his brother's trustee his lawyer friend Harlow, Stone directs his anger and pain towards her unbeknown to him she is also mourning the loss of her best friend. Slowly they will bond over her knowledge of his parents and how he and Brooks where raised by being thrown against each other as rivals and he will soon decide to face his demons while reading his brother's journals. He will learn about his brother's struggles and their father's manipulative ways and the bond he had with Harlow. Their journey is not easy but they will slowly become enraptured with each other. An amazing cast of characters and captivating story with an HEA with an amazing dog named Odin, that you will only wish to snuggle with day and night! I volunteered to review this story!
