Publisher Description
All alpha all the time, Sebastian Knight’s confidence never wavers. At least not until Ashley Easton walks back into his life, wanting nothing to do with the playboy who broke her heart.
Sebastian Knight is a closer. Be it a business deal or the woman of his choice, everything he wants is his for the taking. Sexy and irresistible, a wink, a smile, or a handshake always seals the deal. Until Ashley returns at the worst possible time, and everything unravels around him.
The Ashley who returns is sassy and sexy--everything Sebastian craves and he wants a second chance. Despite her reluctance, his sex appeal makes it harder and harder to keep him at arm’s length.
Sebastian might have a talent for sealing the deal, but Ashley is no longer easily charmed. This time he’s going to have to work to win.
A Standalone Romance
Customer Reviews
Love it!
This author always knows how to write a perfect blend of emotional, heartfelt, funny, sweet and sexy stories. I love it when she adds a little drama in too like this one! Sebastian and Ashley were awesome together and had great chemistry. I am excited for more in this new series, as book one did not disappoint!
Mid-book review
I normally only leave a mid book review if the book is so amazing and I can’t help but leave a review or if the book is pretty bad so far and this book is pretty bad so far. It just seems like a book with a bunch of words thrown together, but it doesn’t really seem like a good and well thought out story. It kind of seems like things just happen and there’s no will you know connection in the direction of beforehand, it’s just kind of like this is what’s happening And it’s happening. I feel like we’re kind of just told about the characters instead of actual character development throughout the story. I’m halfway through and so far I don’t like it. My opinion might change but so far it’s getting two stars.
UPDATE: it had a very slight pick up where the writing got somewhat better, but God that book was awful and gruelling to get through. It’s just terrible writing and terribly written story. I am honestly annoyed that I wasted so much time pushing through to read it. It took me even longer to get through because it was so bad
4.25 stars—revealing and captivating
4.25 stars--TAKE ME AGAIN is the first instalment in Carly Phillips’ contemporary, adult THE KNIGHT BROTHERS erotic, romance series focusing on the Knight siblings. This is twenty-six year old Sebastian Knight, and twenty-four year old, forensic accountant Ashley Easton’s story line.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Sebastian and Ashley) TAKE ME AGAIN follows the rekindling relationship between former step-siblings, twenty-six year old Sebastian Knight, and twenty-four year old, forensic accountant Ashley Easton. Upon the recent death of his brother Ethan’s wife Amanda, Sebastian came face to face with his past, a woman he hasn’t stopped loving but a woman who is unable to forgive him for sins long ago. Sent away at the age of sixteen, and never to return, Ashley knew her place was with the Knight family, at a time when they needed her, the most, so leaving England, Ashley knew what awaited her upon her return. What ensues is the rekindling relationship between Ashley and Sebastian, and the potential fall-out as Ashley’s time in America draws to a close.
Meanwhile, Knight Time Technology, the family owned business, is struggling under a potential disaster. Hoping to uncover the truth, Ethan Knight sends Sebastian and Ashley , well aware of their formidable history, to California in an effort to stop the fall-out and liability of possible fraud.
The relationship between Sebastian and Ashley is a second chance, rekindling romance that was all but destroyed by overzealous reactions, and hormonal teens. Ashley has never forgiven Sebastian for what transpired but Ashley is not the innocent in the events of the past. The palpable sexual attraction is immediate and strong, and does not go unnoticed by the Knight family. The $ex scenes are passionate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to the Knight siblings: oldest brother Ethan; former championship skier Parker, and twenty-four year old sister Sierra, as well as Ashley’s former boyfriend Jonathan Davies.
The world building reveals the Knight family dynamics, and the fractured relationship between Sebastian and the siblings he so dearly loves.
TAKE ME AGAIN is a story of family, friendship, betrayal and loss. The premise is revealing and captivating; the characters are colorful, charismatic and wounded; the romance is heavy and hot. TAKE ME AGAIN is a great start to a fantastic new series by Carly Phillips.
