As a guest

Due to an expected leaking of water in my studio/house in Italy, I had to return to Rome all of a sudden in order to sort out the problem. The devastated condition, however, awakened me to travel from China to Italy ‘ As a guest’, as if in a ‘ dream’ where I could even be face to face with the birth of an inner Spring which includes a new eye to see the exhibitions: from Anselm Kiefer’s fallen angels to De Kooning ‘s L’Italia. Even the Biennale ‘ Foreigners everywhere’ became an inner chapter to be reviewed from within…Like the last two publications of Ah Fu’s diary , I wrote the diary in Chinese Calligraphy in colour on Wang Ximeng’s writing paper, then translated it in English. Comments on the Venice Biennale and De Kooning’s show were to accompany the video I realised on youtube titled 5 August 2024 ( my Venice diary 2024). The return from Italy to China inspired me to visit Matteo Ricci’s residence in Zhaoqing in order to pay homage to Father Johnny Yan Po Tak ( Padre Gianni Giampetro for thanking him of his poems , the source of inspiration for many of my art works since I was 14 )
