Kate was a new person at the police station and she was not accepted at all. She was used to it. Her family was also the same way when dealing with her. She was alone, and she was fine with it. She only wanted to make this project with the police work.
That was when the month of December rolled around and the people in the station house all decided to play secret Santa. Kate signed up for it, but she did not really seem to care about the idea of getting anything. That is where he stepped into the role perfectly.
Max rigged the game for her. He was her secret Santa, and she was his. It was only when he stumbled by her office one day and she was blowing up about how much she hated this place he knew something was really wrong. The present he had given her was replaced with something else and to make it worse it was a bag of trash.
After losing his temper at everyone there in the building and making sure she knew that he was not like the rest of them. The couple were up for a few more surprises along with the rest of the twelve days of Christmas.
