Publisher Description
Emma, by Jane Austen, is a novel about the perils of misconstrued romance. The novel was first published in December 1815. As in her other novels, Austen explores the concerns and difficulties of genteel women living in Georgian-Regency England; she also creates a lively 'comedy of manners' among her characters.
Customer Reviews
Plain emotionless
Really difficult to listen to the very plain and flat reading. I love the story but I’m so disappointed in this version. Need a different version read in a much more lively manner and British accent, like Kate Beckinsale’s version of Pride and Prejudice.
There are better versions than this
I know it was cheap, but after 2 minutes I had to stop listening... I could cope with the incongruence of an American accent narrating, but it was stilted, woodeness of the narration that was unbearable. Don't waste your time or money on this.
No.
Come on. Really? An American narrating "Emma"? Terrible.
