Publisher Description
Brantley Walker has dedicated his life to serving his country. Having given seventeen years to the US Navy, the last ten as a SEAL, the mission was the only thing he knew, the only thing that mattered. He never even considered what life would look like after the mission was over.
Until he’s forced to.
After months of recovering from career-ending injuries, Brantley finds himself back in his hometown of Coyote Ridge, Texas. Once again a permanent resident, with the full support of his family and friends, he embarks on a journey to start over, forced to figure out what to do with the rest of his life—a task that is far easier said than done.
Then the unthinkable happens.
When his cousin Travis’s daughter is kidnapped, Brantley puts himself right back in the action, partnering up with Reese Tavoularis to find the little girl and bring her home where she belongs.
As events unfold, Brantley and Reese find themselves undertaking another mission. Only this one results in a journey that takes them in a direction neither of them expected to go.

Loved it!
I absolutely loved this book. For some reason I didn't actually read the book description before I started so I didn't have a clue about the storyline. I'm really glad I didn't as I didn't see the direction the story was heading in so the kidnapping storyline was a shock.
It's a brilliant read, I couldn't put it down once I got into it and wished it hadn't ended. Both Brantley and Reese are really interesting characters and I'd kinda forgotten everything about Reese so his unfolding story was all the more intriguing. This is just the start of his big changes and he's definitely in the right mindset to follow through and see where his life is going to take him.
Brantley is finally finding a purpose after feeling afloat for awhile. He has a strong, commanding personality with a quiet, softer, stillness about him. His chilled vibe is perfect for Reese and gives him the space to find his own rhythm. The push and pull between the two is really fun. I think as their story goes on through the series they will be become a firm favourite for me.
We get to catch up a little with a few others in the Walker universe, just little bits but enough to be really satisfying. I love any page that has Travis on it so that was a bonus.
Great start to this new series and I look forward to more.
