Ellen, unexpectedly freed of all responsibility, returns to the scene of a childhood mystery but is distracted from her investigations by a local policeman apparently prepared to offer all she's ever wanted. Loved, loved, loved it!
This is the fourth book that I have read by this author and it is my favourite so far! I found myself pondering the mystery and the character’s actions during the day before making an excuse to retire early to bed to allow for extra reading time!
The characters are quickly introduced so that the story can begin to gather pace, however, as the story develops I felt like the Ellen was becoming a friend. The author’s beautiful descriptions of the Norfolk countryside and coast helped me to conjure up comforting images, which really helped in visualising the action segments.
I can’t recommend this book enough, a fabulous storyline that will keep you gripped!

Having read the Bryce Family Trilogy I was really looking forward to reading this stand alone story.
I was soon immersed in Ellen’s story and the mystery disappearance of her childhood friend Martin. Set in a Norfolk coastal village and with plenty of character who could have something to do with Martins disappearance, I was pulled into Ellen’s world.....
Another great read and would highly recommend.
