So Many Emotions!
Wow. Every chapter leaves you wanting to know more, leaves you trying to work out who the killer is using your own thoughts and clues. And yet when you think you know who it is the plot thickens and it’s someone else…. The only thing that threw me off with this was the intense descriptions to self harm and suicide. If you’re struggling personally just make yourself aware of the situation. Something i wish i knew before reading.
5*+++
Where to start? This is very well written. The plot is good throughout.
Events are described to deliberately build up tension. Within chapters, sections often end on a cliffhanger. It’s all very clever, well above the average.
Don’t try to read too quickly as there are plenty of clues, sometimes almost throw away remarks, which had me guessing all sorts. I won’t say if any or all of my thoughts were right in case it spoils the surprise for future readers. Some may, or may not, have been red herrings.
There are enough characters for various suspects and scenarios to be possible. The ending was satisfying.
I had read the earlier book, referred to occasionally, which had events that affected Lacey, but I think the story would work fine as a stand alone. She’d had a difficult time.
This was one of those rare books that I wanted to devour while simultaneously not wanting to get to the end. It’s the best book I’ve read in a long while.
Decent
This is a decent book but not a great. Builds a little slowly and then a lot happens in the last few chapters. Worth a read though.
