Magical
This is the first book in a reimagined series of interconnected but standalone paranormal stories. I can’t comment on previous versions but this iteration is truly amazing. The detailed characters are unique individuals with their own traits and peculiarities.
Joss and Clelia have history and in that respect this story has a second chance vibe; but there is so much going, making it impossible to label as any one theme or genre. Clelia is a wonderful mix of innocence, strength and courage and she is motivated throughout by love for those around her. Joss is an archetypal leader: dominant and protective, but he also has a darker more fragile side.
This story has a dark, gothic feel I found enthralling. A magical start to what is shaping up to be an unmissable series...I received an advanced copy of this book from the author
