Publisher Description
Her love rescued him once. But will it be enough to save them both this time?
Lacey is finding her place in the world again. Happy with her emerging career in the Tasmania Police Force, a cottage on the coast, and handsome detective Nico by her side, everything is perfect.
Nico is relishing his new life with Lacey, but he harbours a secret that may threaten their blissful romance. A meeting with someone from his past forces him to rethink his priorities, and he’s no longer sure if their love can last the distance.
Then the murders start. The body of a young woman is found in a river. During the search for the killer, another battered corpse is discovered on a well-known hiking trail.
Now Nico and Lacey must piece together the link between the victims, while the spectre of the mysterious serial killer re-emerges, leaving them unsure of their next move. Then the trail leads them to the dangerous Overland Track, where they believe the killer is hunting another victim. When his protective instincts kick in—it’s his job to safeguard Lacey, if only she’ll let him—they find themselves on a collision course. Both are determined to catch the criminal, but when their hearts get in the way, can they work together to solve the mystery? Or will they become the next targets instead?

Probably not for late night reading
Rain Washed is book two in the Dark Tides series and completely stand-alone.
Should word ever get out about the high number of serious crimes committed in Burnie, tourists would cease visiting Tasmania. Thank goodness this is fiction.
Lacey is happily settled with her detective boyfriend Nico, but still has nightmares after a near death experience six months ago (book one, Into the Rain). She's now a probationary constable, working under Nico's supervision in the local Tasmanian police department. After the bodies of two young women are found, Nico is working long hours heading the murder investigation. When Lacey observes a prowler outside their home, Nico's first instinct is to protect her, but after years of a dominating mother, Lacey feels he's over controlling.
Sorting out their lives together and searching for the murderer leads them on a chase into the mountains of the National Park. Are they chasing the murder or is the murderer waiting for them.
Police procedure, romance and tension make a great read in this latest in the action-packed series from Suzanne Cass.
