A Jedi adventure that is a direct prequel to the upcoming movie, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith! Based on information from George Lucas and written by bestselling Star Wars author James Luceno, this book leads directly into the explosive opening scene of the new blockbuster movie.
Now a full-fledged Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker sets out on his first mission with Obi-Wan Kenobi as an equal, instead of as a Padawan apprentice. As they search desperately for clues to the wherabouts of the evil Sith Lord, Darth Sidiuos, they find themselves caught in an intricately woven web of lies that leads them right into the action-packed opening sequence of the upcoming blockbuster movie, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith!
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, now a Jedi Knight, pursue old enemy Viceroy Gunray, who has been oppressing the intelligent beetles on the planet Cato Neimoidia, in bestseller Luceno's jaunty contribution to the Star Wars franchise. As the pair venture deep into interstellar space, to some well-drawn if unappetizing worlds, they also cross paths with Separatist leaders Count Dooku, Darth Sidious and General Grievous. Meanwhile, intrigues simmer back on the home planet Coruscant, and doubts grow about the loyalties of the Jedi Knights. The action builds smoothly to the climactic attack by the Separatists under General Grievous on Coruscant, where Anakin's wife, Senator Amidala, finds herself in mortal peril. While the author does a good job of maintaining excitement without revealing any secrets of the forthcoming final Star Wars movie, this tie-in, unlike some other Star Wars novels, has no features to give it interest apart from its link to the popular film series.

Start of the dark lord trilogy
The start of the dark lord trilogy. Followed by episode 3 and concluded with the rise of darth Vader, this is probably the weakest book of the 3 but that’s due to the high standards set by the exceptional book that is episode 3. The book starts out with anakin and obi wan closing in on gunray, which in turn leads them to clues about who darth sidious is and where he is. From there they go on a series of chasing down these clues while count dooku and general grievous are making plans of their own on sidious behalf. This book can be a slow read at times and bit boring in places but it doesn’t take away from the stuff that works. I would recommend reading this trilogy one after another as this book leads directly into episode 3 and it’s probably better to see this series of books as one big book.
