When a heatwave coincides with rehearsals for an end-of-summer concert, temperatures soar - and small town scandals are around every corner . . .
It turns out that some members of the choir have secrets they are desperate to keep hidden.
Christopher, the handsome and talented director, is embroiled in a steamy affair with someone who is strictly off-limits; Molly has become obsessed with a young boy whom she's convinced is her grandson; while Emily has just fallen in love - with the wrong man.
As opening night approaches, it becomes clear that there are some tough decisions to be made. But until the curtain falls, you never know what might happen on The Street Where You Live.
'A real treat ... Meaney wraps her readers in the company and comfort of strangers' Sunday Independent
Customer Reviews
I’m still waiting for the ending….
I really loved the slow rumble of this story but the characters weren’t pulled together tightly enough so I really had to flick back and forth in my head and the book to pull the story together and when I turned the page and found teasers for other books I wax for the first time ever truly properly shocked as I had no idea the last page was in fact the LAST page! I was left still wondering how the separate and many characters lives twisted and turned into what ending but actually to be honest there was not one string character that I’m that bothered about really. Loved the other books written by the author but just couldn’t believe this one just ended. I even honestly said out loud: you’ve got to be kidding me? Where’s the ending
