VALIS validates PKD
I chose this (the first novel of his I've read) as it's just prior to the cinema release of Blade Runner 2049. I'm glad I did - it's a great book (an A.I. voice in my head, possibly Wintermute from Neuromancer, tells me the the film won't be as good as the originals)
A Sci Fi exploration of religious creation
This book will make you question your own reality as it did to the author who had a bit of a mental breakdown at the time of writing. The key messages are that no one is going to magically come and save you, you have to save yourself. Instead of worshipping deities we should worship each other with mutual respect.
