Prepare to fall head over heels. The perfect book for fans of Josie Silver, This Time Next Year, and anyone who ever fell in love with the wrong person…
‘Gorgeously festive and romantic’ Rosie Walsh, bestselling author of The Man Who Didn’t Call
What if you couldn’t get away from the one who got away?
This December, unlucky-in-love Jess is following her dream and moving to Notting Hill. On the first night in her new house-share she meets Alex, the guy in the room next door. They don’t kiss under the mistletoe, but there’s still a spark that leaves Jess imagining how they might spend the year together – never mind the house rule against dating…
But when Jess returns from her Christmas holiday, she finds Alex has started seeing Emma, who lives on the floor above them. Now Jess faces a year of bumping into the man of her dreams – and, apparently, the woman of his.
Jess is determined to move on and spend the year falling in love with London, not Alex – but what if her heart has other ideas?

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
New beginnings are at the heart of this sweet, G-rated debut romance. Jess accepts her dream job in London and can't believe her luck when a friend offers her a room in a Notting Hill town house for dirt cheap. The only rule is there can be no relationships between residents. When Jess's new housemate, Alex, gave up his lucrative law career to pursue nursing, his fianc e promptly dumped him. He's determined to avoid relationships and concentrate on his studies, but enjoys a friends-with-benefits arrangement with Emma, a fellow housemate, on the sly. Alex and Jess bond over afternoon walks and living in close quarters, and Jess, a hopeless romantic, falls for Alex, but because of his "relationship" with Emma, she tries to think of him as a friend. When Emma starts to want more, Alex calls things off, still not ready for a relationship. But when Jess starts to date someone else, Alex realizes he's been fighting feelings for her all along. Curtis has a gift for capturing complex emotion and both romantic and platonic intimacy. The witty dialogue, loyal friendships, and endearing romance are sure to capture readers' hearts.

Engaging characters
I was trying to work out what kept me reading as there are no really significant events or plot twists, but I have realised I loved the characters- they totally believable and relatable and reading it was like a comfy pair of slippers or a warm blanket! Cosy, heartwarming and a nice escape x

A lovely true to life easy read with a happy warm ending.
Flop of an Ending
Loved the build up through the book, and the story of the characters was good but the ending felt rushed. Left feeling disappointed
