I'm Detective Lucien Kane, and usually, being a vampire with a supernatural gift has its perks.

I'd kept my identity a secret for decades; only now, my best friend, Officer Theodore Ballard, and partner, Quinn Hastings, know what I am.

I hadn't been able to shake Ms. Hastings after my last case when I saved her sister, and now she acts like she owes me a favor.
