Best. Novel. I’ve Ever Read.
Pride and Prejudice is absolutely sparkling and delightful, filling you the feels you’d expect of a romance movie or fan fiction but with infinitely more depth and wit. The pacing is excellent, the writing is delectable, the dialogue is alive! It may be a little difficult to get the 19th century context and language, but when you do, oh boy. This novel is the making of a genre, the precursor to every enemies-to-lovers story, and the best one in existence.
I cannot, I simply cannot tell you how much I love this novel. I tried to read it when I was 8 and failed—was too young to understand—then I picked it up again six months ago and have read it thrice since. One of those times was aloud, to my parents (Imagine that! Reading a romance novel to my parents!). They laughed and were struck in all the right places. I am currently on a quest to get as many people of my acquaintance as I possibly can to read it, because not only is it the wittiest, most observant, most kilig-inducing, relatable, gorgeous novel I’ve ever had the good fortune to read, it taught me deep lessons on life and love and growth that I will never forget, for as long as I live.
Whether you’re a man in a years-long marriage, or a teenaged girl waiting for her turn at love and romance, Pride and Prejudice is a novel for you. A novel that you will relate to and feel in the depths of your soul. Every single hour you use to read this book will return value to you many times over. It’s worth it, I swear. And if you don’t believe me, try it for yourself.
