Publisher Description
Three years ago, I swore to myself we were done.
Since then, Tweetie Sorenson has embraced the professional hockey player bachelor lifestyle—his social media is a highlight reel of clubs, friends, and a never-ending stream of different women.
It’s hard to believe he’s the same man who stole my heart the very night we met. With him, everything felt wild, spontaneous, and absolutely perfect. I thought he was my forever.
Then, he broke my heart. Or maybe we broke each other’s. Either way, it was over.
I’ve moved on—new city, dream job—until my boss throws me back into Tweetie’s world. I’m sent to Chicago to manage the Falcons’ social media, which means working alongside the one man I never truly let go of. FML.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
Cue the tears! Whether you’re reading or listening to the book for the first time, or supplementing your first read with an immersive audiobook experience, this story will tug at your heartstrings!
This is another “even better in audio” book from Piper Rayne. As always, they cast the perfect voice actors to bring their characters to life. The full-cast duet-style format is the best way to consume Tedi and Tweetie’s story.
📚 Story Review 📚
This book surprised me. I knew we were in for an emotional time, and the authors more than delivered the pain. I was surprised how well Piper Rayne convinced me, making me love Tweetie despite my initial reservations. I could not put this book down and am writing this review well past my bedtime - the lack of sleep was well worth getting to that HEA.
Let’s talk about Tweetie…
I did not like him for a good portion of the story. I’m not the biggest fan of a MMC who becomes a manwhore because his heart was broken (and he was not blameless in that breakup AT ALL). Or a FMC who just gives in once he says the phrase “it was always you”. But… and this is a huge but, as the story went on, as Tweetie revealed his vulnerabilities, and after that BIG reveal, I kinda got it. And then fell hopelessly in love with the thought of him and Tedi getting that elusive HEA. I became their biggest fan.
The pining and "will they, won't they" vibes are intense. For so much of the book, I could not see how Tweetie and Tedi would overcome their pasts. How they would recover from the mutual hurt. I can't even count the number of tears I shed for them, nor speak of how hard it was to go back to pull quotes without tearing up again.
Mr Charming is a medium-burn and spicy, super-angsty, second chance, “it was always you” standalone MF romance that is part of an interconnected series.
I’m really sad that this is the end of The Nest era. It’s going to be so hard to say goodbye to all the couples and their shenanigans. I’m still holding out hope the Chipmunks get their turns, but I am looking forward to the next batch of athletes to fall for their ones.
Thanks to Piper Rayne and Valentine PR for the review copy.
Worth the wait!
As a longtime Piper Rayne fan, I have LITERALLY been waiting FOR YEARS — since the Hockey Hotties series back in 2022 — for Tweety and Tedi to get their second chance! And this book was WORTH THE WAIT! Mr. Charming was everything I wanted for Tedi and Tweety's second-chance romance.
If Mr. Charming is your first encounter with Tedi and Tweety, don't worry about not having read the Hockey Hotties series, because everything you need to know to fall in love with these two is presented in a wonderful second-chance romance by PR. (That said, do yourself a favor and go read the Hockey Hotties series, because it's great!) Tedi and Tweety's 13-year history is told in present-day chapters as well as journal entries made by both of them. I absolutely loved getting inside both of their heads in those journal entries; I felt it really gave depth to this couple and upped the rooting value. It was also great to relive some of those moments from the Hockey Hotties books through Tedi and Tweety's eyes.
Both of these characters have shown so much growth. I always knew that while Tweetie has been a giant player the past few years, it was because Tedi was the one that got away, the one he never got over. They have come such a long way, and show so much maturity in the way they handle the obstacles presently facing them. Once they both realize that it's not worth fighting the love that never died, they really do protect their relationship and make one another a priority and I loved that growth.
There's a bit of a forbidden element to this book, as Tedi works for the league, and her dating a player is frowned upon, and how they handle that issue is one example of how much these two have grown up during the time they were apart.
Narrators Troy Duran and Christine Lakin did a great job with these characters. I admit, Tweety's book was the one I was most anticipating from The Nest. Since this series has been narrated by a full cast from the start, I'd heard Duran as Tweety in the previous books, but in my mind, the stakes were high for him to be the star of Mr. Charming! And Duran was excellent in portraying the cockiness that I've come to love from Tweety, as well as the vulnerable side to the character as his backstory and childhood is explored.
While I'm sad to see The Nest series end, it *had* to end with Tweety and Tedi getting their HEA! Now on to Easton Bailey and the baseball boys!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
Exceptional Story & Narration🎧 Alluring & Heartwarming!
Piper Rayne worked their magic and crafted something very special when they created this series and there is so much that makes it so special, starting with the fabulous characters and their storylines. This fourth book of the series is Tweetie and Tedi’s story, a wonderful second chance romance that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. I would like to say they saved the best book and character for last, but that would not be fair to the first three books, which are just as amazing and not to be missed. I have been looking forward to Tweetie’s story and learning more about him, and he has had his share of heartbreaks and disappointments in his past, including the one that got away, the only women he loved, Tedi. Tedi moved on after her breakup with Tweetie, living in a different city and working her dream job, a job that brings her back into Tweetie’s life and world again. Becoming the social media manager for the Falcons is a great opportunity, but seeing and having to work with Tweetie is going to be a challenge. To prevent her from slipping into his arms again, or him getting any ideas, she had a plan, having someone act as her boyfriend and she knew just the guy to ask, her brother’s friend Decker, who plays ball for the Chicago Colts. It was great to watch Tweetie and Tedi dance around each other, each fighting how they really feel about the other and going head to head. I loved the complexity of these characters, their relationship and the glimpses into their past to see how they got to where they were in the present. There is never a dull moment in this book and the story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, witty dialogue and humor, heartfelt emotions and a wonderful second chance romance. It was great seeing the rest of the gang and how far they all have come in their lives and relationships. The ending was awesome, and the series may be over, but with every ending there is a new beginning, and there won’t be empty nests for long and Ruby won’t be an empty nester for long either. Piper Rayne, thank you for the exceptional story, series, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the exceptional multi-cast performance and production, led by Troy Duran and Christine Lakin covering the two lead characters, Tweetie and Tedi and jumping in reprising their roles from earlier books are JF Harding, Connor Crais, Sean Masters, Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom. An incredible duet-style performance that keeps you glued to the story and takes the already amazing story to another level. Each voice artist grasped their character’s personality and demeanor perfectly, as well as their every emotion, making you feel them all. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.
