Publisher Description

Hockey players were never my type.

At least, that’s what I thought—until I met Conor Nilsen. In truth, I didn’t know he was the goalie for the Chicago Falcons when he struck up a conversation the night of my bachelorette party.

He proved he wasn’t just some hot guy looking to score when he helped me get my drunk bridesmaid safely back to our hotel. That’s when he discovered my 30-before-30 bucket list—a list I hadn’t managed to check a single item off.

What was meant to be a night of stargazing turned into so much more. The chemistry between us was undeniable, and after one innocent night together, I started to question everything—especially my upcoming wedding to a man I wasn’t sure loved me.

Fast forward to my wedding day, and just as I’m standing at the altar, Conor bursts through the church doors to object. And now, somehow, I’m his roommate. Yikes.

Wonderful Story

I read the ebook first but this audiobook was a joy to listen to with Connor Crais and Lucy Christian Bell as Conor and Eloise, plus the multi-cast narration by the other narrators. They brought everyone to life for me. Conor and Eloise were perfect for each other and their friends backed them up. Eloise finally stood up for herself and what she wanted. I especially liked the references to previous series with the Bianco brothers making appearances in this book. This was a wonderful book and I'm certainly looking forward to Tweetie's book next.

Mr. Swoony was so swoony!

Oh boy! I was dying to know how Conor knew Eloise well enough to stop her wedding, and Piper Rayne did not let me down with Mr. Swoony!

The title of this book was everything. After the dust settles from Eloise's interrupted wedding, she and Conor start their relationship with a strong friendship/roommate situation. The instant attraction they felt the night they met is stronger than ever, and eventually Eloise just lets herself fall, puts her own happiness first, and lets herself get involved with Conor. Little by little, he shows her how a boyfriend should treat a girlfriend, and once he gets started, he goes all in. I loved how he helped her cross things off her bucket list and even created one of his own.

I read this book while simultaneously listening to the full-cast audio. Connor Crais was *chef's kiss* as Swoony Conor. Luci Christian Bell is a narrator that I'm not so familiar with, but I thought she did a fantastic job of playing the range of emotions that Eloise goes through over the course of this story.

I am loving The Nest series and the found family this group of friends have made for themselves. Bring on Tweetie and Teddie!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Exceptional Story & Narration🎧Charming & Delightful!

Piper Rayne pens another fabulous novel, a charming sports romance novel that doesn’t just captivate your attention the entire time, but it tugs at your heartstrings and warms your heart, too. Conor Nilsen, goalie for the Chicago Falcons, resident of “The Nest”, the fixer of all and lives up to his name, Mr. Swoony, through and through. Eloise Corbin is getting married, and she is at her bachelorette party, a party she is not enjoying, and is sitting there reflecting on her life choices and second guessing them. Conor notices Eloise and something about her draws him to her, so he goes up to her, but when her friend, who had too much to drink, needs help to get out of there, she needs to leave. The gentleman that he is jumps in to help her get her friend back to where they are staying. These two hit it off like no other and spend an innocent night together, innocent but memorable, so much so that Conor can not get her out of his mind. He knows of her upcoming wedding and gets the details to where it is and after a few drinks and encouragement from his teammates, he goes to the church to stop it, which is quite a scene, quite hilarious. Eloise knew she was making a mistake going through with the wedding and was about to call it off when he came in to object, and a whirlwind happens from there. With Eloise needing a place to stay and Conor feeling guilty about what he did, so he offers her his spare bedroom, with no strings attached, which she accepts. Eloise needs to find herself again and see what she wants to do with her life. Conor already knew he wanted her and was patient with giving her the space she needed while being there for her. The chemistry between them was smoking home, and it was great to watch them get to know each other and see their relationship grow into something so much more. I loved how everything played out in this book, with the perfect balance of drama, light on angst, high on charm, humorous and witty dialogue that keeps you smiling, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. “The Nest” has quickly become one of my favorite series, the characters are the stars of the show and their storylines are amazing. And as always, Piper Rayne’s writing, plot and world building are incredible, as are the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment and I am loving the camaraderie amongst the teammates and friends, too. Thanks for another wonderfully delightful story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing talent and multi-cast production, the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, with Connor Crais and Luci Christian Bell voicing and performing the two lead roles, Conor and Eloise, and Sean Masters, JF Harding, Troy Duran, Teddy Hamilton, and CJ Bloom voicing and performing the side characters. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on, starting with Crais nailing it as Conor, delivering a swoon worthy performance in his role, grasping every aspect of his personality and demeanor perfectly. Bell did the same as Eloise, and was just as fabulous, showcasing her personalty and demeanor too. The rest of the cast was equally amazing in their roles, also showcasing their characters’ personalities, as well. The entire cast set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates this already exceptional story to another level.
