Lotusfall’s Performance epilogue
Review: I hate Onestar, so this book was a bore to get through. His relationships made me cringe, and the only things I enjoyed about this book was Darktail (one of my fave villains, and as an artist I enjoy drawing him because of his design) and Brushpaw.
Now for the chapter!
“Lotusfall, tell me again what happened!”
The gleeful cry came from Fallingkit, who bounded across the camp and flung himself at Lotusfall’s paws.
It was the next day, and Patchshade, being confined to camp for four moons, glared at Lotusfall and Fallingkit from across the camp as they sat down by the nursery. He made Lotusfall uncomfortable, but she doubted that he would try anything with so many cats around. She forced her attention back to Fallingkit, and told him the story about how she defeated Patchshade again.
“Cool!” he said when she had finished, with a glance at Patchshade. He hissed at him with his fur fluffed up angrily.
Lotusfall noticed Slatewhisker coming over with a small fish. She set it down in front Fallingkit and purred.
“Here you go, I thought you’d like this.”
“Wow, really?” Fallingkit pounced on the fish, but before he could start eating, Lotusfall nudged him with her nose. “Say thank you, Fallingkit.”
“Thanks, Slatewhisker!”
The she-cats purred as Fallingkit began to wolf down the fish. Lotusfall gazed at Slatewhisker, whose eyes softened.
“You didn’t have to bring that,” Lotusfall murmured to her, keeping her voice low so Fallingkit wouldn’t hear.
“It’s okay,” Slatewhisker answered with a shake of her head. “I know he likes it.”
Lotusfall purred deeply as she nuzzled her mate. Fallingkit, who had looked up, scrunched up his face, but he was ultimately ignored, so he bounded away to go play a few tail-lengths away. Lotusfall turned to look at Slatewhisker, wanting to say something she had on her chest.
“Slatewhisker, I . . .” her voice trailed away, but she forced it to come back. “I’ve spent my whole life pretending. Pretending that I wasn’t a Dark Forest cat, pretending that I wasn’t lonely, or that I wasn’t as great as every cat thought I was.” She paused, and Slatewhisker stayed quiet, her blue eyes attentive. “Now it’s hard to know which version of myself is really me, but when I’m with you—“ she touched her nose to Slatewhisker’s. “—it doesn’t matter.”
Lotusfall broke away, but inwardly her heart fluttered. I’m glad that she’s my mate, but do I really deserve her?
But she pushed that thought out of her mind. She was happy now, and she deserved that. She hoped that Patchshade wouldn’t bother her anymore, but if he did, she had her clan behind her.
She would enjoy the peace and joy with her kin, her mate, and Fallingkit.
After all, it was well-earned.
In a shadowed forest, two she-cats padded side by side.
“The plan failed,” the ginger one meowed, her tone angry. “I should’ve known better than to trust that that furball-for-brains wouldn’t ruin everything.”
“But there’s still a chance, Sunheart,” the other cat replied calmly. She stuck to the shadows, but her eyes glowed through the gloom like two green moons. “I did as you asked.”
“Yes, you did do that,” Sunheart mused, though she didn’t sound happy. “At least you’re competent. Although, would it really have been so bad if he was killed?”
The other cat hesitated. “You swore you wouldn’t hurt them.” Her mew was hoarse. “You shouldn’t say something like that.”
But Sunheart merely purred. “Oh, don’t start having second thoughts on me. I need you. The plan has only just begun!”
“What else will you have me do?” Sunheart’s companion hissed. Her eyes were wild now. Panicked. “I did what you asked already!”
Sunheart suddenly rounded on her and bared her teeth, her fur bushing. “I said that the plan has just begun! Patchshade is still not leader yet!”
The other she-cat cowed in front of Sunheart, who struck out with a forepaw.
“If you want to guarantee the safety of your kin,” the ginger cat snarled, “then you will make Patchshade the leader of RiverClan. I don’t care what you have to do—go ahead and smother Willowstar in his sleep if you think it’ll work—just do it!”
Still shivering, the other she-cat said nothing. Sunheart took the silence as an opening to speak.
“So, do we have a deal, Lilymist?”
I hope you enjoyed this fanfic, but I am unsure if I will continue it at all, let alone on the book reviews. Either way, I hope you enjoyed Lotusfall if you’re a fanfic reader and I hope you enjoyed my reviews if you want to read what is actually supposed to be in the reviews!

It’s not the best book of all time
Its storyline is odd
Hate it, with a burning passion
Welp, Erin Hunter, you’ve done it. You’ve finally written a book where my last straw broke, and trust me, it takes a lot for me to hate something, and even more to hate it with a burning passion.
(This part contains spoilers for the book, so
if you haven’t read it then you might wanna go. Or not. I wouldn’t read this book again. It was a piece of trash. Also just wanted to add that the book sucked, not the person reading it.)
First of all, this book is such a random book, I don’t know WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WANTED TO READ A WHOLE SUPER EDITION ABOUT A LOUSY DAD/LEADER/MATE. He sucked as you learned more about him throughout the main books. Now we got a stupid super edition about him. I would have been fine with a novella, or something but like- a super edition? Come on, Erins, we could have had literally any cat and it would have been better. What about Goldenflower? That would have been a cool novella. But of course, we had to pick stupid Onestar.
And the Smokey affair? So overused. So stupid. So cliché. Smokey was basically just there to be Onestar’s mate, and nothing more. Man, they weren’t even mates! They just hung out and stuff. Hated it.
If you think that Smokey x One was bad, just think of White x One. Trash ship, if you ask me. He literally has flashbacks of when Whitetail was an APPRENTICE and a KIT. A CHILD. EW NO.
Don’t recommend this book to anyone, unless I hate you. 😾
