Meet the Donnigans
With the eldest Donnigan brothers adjusting to civilian life, their younger sister constantly in trouble, and their little brother clueless about life in general, falling in love is the last thing on anyone’s mind…
Can this Bossy Badass Marine…
The Marine Corps was everything Landon Donnigan ever wanted in life...until a bullet sent him home with a medical discharge. Teaching a self-defense class at the gym is old-hat for a marine, but when he meets sexy Ava Rosenthal, his combat skills are useless for protecting his heart.
Be her Mr. Right?
Ava can take care of herself and likes quiet, bookish men—not muscular warriors who think women need to be coddled. But Landon is more than he seems, and when they come together, the results are explosive.
Praise for Marie Harte’s McCauley Brothers series:
“Packed with sass, sensuality and heartwarming emotion...an absolute delight!”—Romance Junkies
“Funny, addicting, and full of hot sex scenes.”—Booklist
In this enjoyable series launch set in present-day Seattle, Harte (Roadside Assistance) creates attractive and likable protagonists with serious professional lives who are drawn to each other by both their sexual compatibility and the genuine caring they witness in each other. Practical, organized psychologist Ava Rosenthal has a list of desired qualities for her future mate, and brawny, bossy Landon Donnigan doesn't meet them, but the chemistry between them threatens to mess up her carefully laid plains. After a knee wound forces Landon to retire from the Marines, he struggles to adjust to civilian life, especially since his role as a caring older brother demands his constant vigilance over his three struggling siblings. After the two protagonists meet at the local gym, Ava signs up for a self-defense class for women that Landon teaches (mostly to benefit his younger sister). Landon's drawn to Ava's perky independence, and she's hooked by his cocky humor and self-confidence. Decent people, playful banter, and steamy sex scenes add up to a satisfying romance. Introducing numerous supporting characters looking for love, Harte lays the groundwork for future books in the series.

This is a fun and sweet story about two people who didn't seem to fit together. And, yet they do.
The characters are perfect compliments to each other. The Donnigan family is a cast of characters. Their practical jokes and obvious family devotion are crazy and fun. Landon, the eldest, a Marine is trying to regain his footing as a civilian.
Ava, is a psychologist with a list for everything, even what the attributes of the perfect male companion should be. And, of course, Landon does not have all items on the checklist. However, they are both drawn to each other.
Their verbal sparring along with Landon's siblings and Ava's outspoken and outrageous cousins is so entertaining.
You will see that they are perfect for each other before they do.
Fun, fun read🌟🌟🌟
Just finished A Sure Thing and what a fun entertaining read. Snappy dialogue in and out of the bedroom, with plenty of sexual tension and a cast of characters you can't help but love. Can't wait for the next in the series.
Landon & Ava meet at the gym where his brother works. He overhears her talking to a friend about all the men she is meeting online. Her dates are not ending well, and he has some advice for her.
Ava is not interested in Landon. He is not her type. So why is her heart pounding? Why is it she cannot stay away from him? The sparks are flying and it is just getting hotter.
I really love when a couple sets the book on fire. I also enjoy when the banter is amazing and funny. I loved this story, and I cannot wait to read the rest of The Donnigan series.
