From New York Times bestselling author Clare Mackintosh comes a deeply moving and page-turning novel about an impossible choice—and the two paths fate could take.

“A beautifully written novel, compelling and clever, tender and true. I can’t stop thinking about it.”—Liane Moriarty

“Tailor-made for book clubs and for fans of Jodi Picoult.”—Publishers Weekly

Max and Pip are the strongest couple you know. They're best friends, lovers—unshakable. But then their son gets sick and the doctors put the question of his survival into their hands. For the first time, Max and Pip can't agree. They each want a different future for their son.

What if they could have both?

A gripping and propulsive exploration of love, marriage, parenthood, and the road not taken, After the End brings one unforgettable family from unimaginable loss to a surprising, satisfying, and redemptive ending and the life they are fated to find. With the emotional power of Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper, Mackintosh helps us to see that sometimes the end is just another beginning.

After The End book review

Well, I just want to start off by saying I am so thankful for this opportunity to read this Arc If you don’t know what Arc means don’t feel bad, I didn’t know what it meant at first either. Arc stands for Advanced Reader Copy. So basically a couple unedited books get made and a handful of people get to read a brand new book that’s coming out before it’s even being sold in store. It’s a really cool thing and I’m very lucky and blessed to have been a part of this! It has been along time since I’ve wrote a review and I have to admit I am kind of nervous. I can’t promise it will be great but I’m going to try my best. Let me just jump right in. First of all, this book is amazing. Secondly, I highly recommend it because it’s wrote very well and I feel it was very methodically constructed. When I got to chapter 26 I was sort of confused to begin with but then I figured out that the author was showing both sides of how things could potentially play out. After I figured that out it made much more sense and I thought that set up worked very nicely. I can’t recall ever reading a book that explored two different scenarios like this author displayed in this book. I don’t want to give to much away, but let me tell you this, if you are anything like me you will need tissues. This is a very real, emotional, engaging story that I throughly enjoyed. I strongly encourage you to read it and I promise you will not regret it! The book is set to be published on June 25th 2019 so be sure to get a copy!
