All is dust... Spurned by his former brothers and his father Magnus the Red, Ahriman is a wanderer, a sorcerer of Tzeentch whose actions condemned an entire Legion to an eternity of damnation. Once a vaunted servant of the Thousand Sons, he is now an outcast, a renegade who resides in the Eye of Terror. Ever scheming, he plots his return to power and the destruction of his enemies, an architect of fate and master of the warp.

Much better than I expected! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the trilogy!
John French has now become my favorite 40k author ( sorry ADB ). John's ability to tie together the various threads of this character into an utterly believable whole is amazing. Rather than change established 40k "history", John built a solid house on it. A rare skill I wish more authors had.
Every character in this book came alive with clear motivations and depth that only a book written by a skilled story teller can give.
Can't wait until I see more like this.
Made me interested in the character. It's a nice bridge between the various depictions of Ahriman. As usual in that universe, odds are it will all end badly, but never in a boring way.
