Read it Because
It's the start of a brand new series of twisted tales from the mind of an author for whom depraved antiheroes are his bread and butter. And Fabius' vile experiments and complete lack of morality make for a deeply entertaining – albeit monstrously disturbing – tale.
Entertaining but zero sum ending
It was an entertaining book and at times I had hopes that it would be fascinating but it failed to offer up any real revelations or thought provoking plot points. In the end, the protagonist is the same as he was at the start of the story, which shows a lack of growth or an affirmation of his belief in his goals, however the reader wants to view it. A whole lot happens but nothing really changes, the essence of warhammer 40k.
