This dark and twisted fantasy already has an established fan base because it’s adapted from an exceptionally popular work of fan fiction inspired by a well-known fantasy series. But even if you come into this story completely cold, you will still be magically compelled by the complex and painful bond between a torturer and his prisoner. The Resistance against the High Necromancer has been crushed, and healer Helena Marino has fallen into the hands of Kaine Ferron, the High Necromancer’s trusted lieutenant. His primary mission is to pry out the two years’ worth of memories that are alchemically locked within her brain—and as inaccessible to her as they are to everyone else. Beautiful and Tragic
This book is beautifully written. The author added so much depth and complexity to her characters and own world that I might even love this book more than Manacled, which I didn’t think possible. It has climbed to the top of my list as the best book I’ve ever read. It’ll stay with you long after reading it. The story deals with heavy themes so it is not for everyone. It holds a special place in my heart even though many parts broke it. This is a book that is unforgettable!
Fabulous book. Wish it had a glossary.
I love this book. I just wish there was a glossary with definitions and genealogy. I had reread part one while I was reading part two to remember everyone and everything.
