"Aya," he murmured, his mouth ripping from hers, his exhale heavy against her mouth.
Stas grabbed him, yanking him back, not ready to stop. She devoured him the way she craved, the way she used to, the way she adored. But he pushed her down, his hand on her chest, his breath hot against her neck. The tension in his touch told her something was wrong, his shoulders locked above her.
She tasted it then--the familiar iron fluid on the tip of her tongue.
Blood.
Her nails bit into his shoulders, her body frozen beneath him.
Oh God...
Don't let it be mine.
Please, f*ck, don't--
"It's mine," he gritted out. "Just... I need a moment."
The air rushed from her lungs, tears filling her eyes. So close. Too close. She shook, her soul ripping in half at the reality of what this could have meant.
I could lose him forever.

I’m addicted!
I never thought of myself as a fast reader, but I’m so addicted to these characters and this series that I read this book in 5 days!
I’m so excited that there are more books in the series, because I need to find out how Aya grows more into her powers and if her demon Seraphim does as well.
Kicks off an INCREDIBLE series
This is the 6th book in the series, as far as reading order, I recommend reading it after ‘Blood Bonds’.
This one picks up right after books 2 & 4, as already-high tensions begin to boil over and the pressure and maybe some harsh realities are on for Stas in what I’ve come to learn is Foss’s brilliantly twisted style.
Epic from the start, I found this one to be no less addictive than all of its predecessors and answers a lot of book 1’s questions. (This part is completely worth the wait! I’d predicted them all, she leaves plenty of clues but this makes it no-less-fun!)
It’s packed with laugh-out-loud moments, thanks to witty characters I’ve gotten to know fairly well by this installment … and through all of this a major war continues to brew, escalating. I couldn’t devour it fast enough and am so glad that book 7 comes out tomorrow. Not sure what I’ll do waiting for book 8 but … worth it.
5 stars.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series is seriously the best!
What another fantastic addition to this series. Stas has definitely had her fair share of tragic moments, but in this book she isn’t the only one that had my heart breaking and tears cascading down my face. Lexi C. Foss did a fantastic job (yet again) with the writing in this book, the depth of emotion, the detailed descriptions, the twists in this ongoing storyline, the characters, oh my the characters. The fact that I am head over heels about every character (and there are many) speaks to how amazing this series is, but every one of them is different, different personalities, powers, goals, love lives etc. Then there is the way she can seamlessly transition from character to character throughout each story, it almost feels as if I’m watching a movie instead of reading books, it’s that good!
