Gosh!
What a sweet story. I really liked it.
Emotional roller coaster
5 stars for - Away From Me - a book previously released under Lexi Blake’s alter ego Sophie Oak. I enjoyed this book years ago and was happy to see it was only updated and edited. Trust me even though it isn’t a very long book it sure packs one heck of an emotional punch.
Gabrielle Sullivan has always been the proper submissive. Doing exactly what was expected of her, exactly when it was expected. Fast forward a few years and she did the very last thing her contract allowed - she fell in love.
Callum Reed lost his first wife and decided love and marriage were not going to ever happen again for him. Cal entered into a D/s relationship with the understanding that he wouldn’t ever fall in love so when Gabby asked him if he loves her he knew it was time to end their agreement. Yet when he sees her again almost a year later he knows he made a terrible mistake.
This was a great story full of angst, heartache, love and kink. With enigmatic characters that you wanted to know on every level. Maybe one day Lexi will head back into their island paradise and give us more of Callum and Gabby Reed.
