The Alpha male killed her father as punishment for not asking permission to take a mate. Fearing she would suffer the same fate, Alexis's mother concealed her pregnancy and ran as far away as she could. Now that Alexis has come of age, the Alpha senses her growing strength and has dispatched an assassin to destroy her before she gets strong enough to pose a challenge.
Alexis, totally unaware of who this newcomer truly is, must decide to accept him into her pack, kill him, or even fall in love with him. But this is not the only challenge Alexis must face; as she grows older, her powers grow exponentially.
Alexis must gain courage and strength if she is going to fight for her pack, survive an assassin, and challenge the Alpha for her rightful place as the first Alpha female to lead a pack.
The Fire of the Song will be her ultimate right of passage, will she be able to survive the blaze?

Bared
The main character is one of the least likable I've read in a while. Angry, fighting, huge temper..... Not a lot of upsides. I'm not sure if the temper is supposed to be because of being a wolf or an alpha - but it's the betas with the bigger tempers normally. Alphas are normally calm & only have tempers when needed. But the character was almost an anti hero & all those characteristics could have easily been in a villain
Other elements of the story don't make sense.
It's a free book & no harm no foul if you don't like it.
