Publisher Description
The New York Times bestselling author of the Cavanaugh Brothers novels returns to the Cavanaugh’s Texas Triple C ranch as the brothers confront the painful memories of their childhood and the truth about their sister’s murder…
No matter how many fights UFC champion Cole Cavanaugh wins, he can’t rid himself of the guilt of not having saved his twin sister’s life. Now, not only is he facing his arch enemy in the ring, he’s fighting to uncover the truth about Cass’s death. But will winning both fights truly give him the retribution and absolution he seeks? Or does he need the healing power of love to finally move on with his life?
The mystery surrounding Cass’s murder also haunts veterinarian Grace Hunter. Many believe that her father might hold the key to the truth. Unfortunately the ex-Sheriff’s deteriorating mental state makes it impossible to separate fact from fiction. As Cole persuades Grace to help him unlock the elusive clues, her defenses weaken. She finds the Stetson-wearing fighter irresistible. But while the truth could free Cole’s heart, it could very well end up shattering hers.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Wright's capable third Cavanaugh Brothers contemporary western (after Broken) finally begins to reveal the true story of Cass Cavanaugh's murder. Champion fighter Cole Cavanaugh has done everything he can to suppress the pain of his twin sister's death. Veteri narian Grace Hunter, the daughter of their Texas town's former sheriff, wants to believe she's no longer a fool for bad boys. When the two unite to continue investigating the murder, they are too close to ignore their mutual attraction. Worse, their efforts produce nothing but distractions in the week before Cole's big rematch fight. Some late revelations promise closure on Cass's death, allowing the romance to enjoy its own satisfying resolution. Wright once again delivers her signature mix of dramatic tension and delectable passion.

Where have all the cowboys gone?
I really liked this installment for the Cavanaugh brothers! Cole is definitely more complex then one would expect on the surface. His reason for living in a hotel says a lot about his inner character and how losing Cass really impacted him. I loved the change from using Grace to get what he wanted, to just wanting Grace. There were times when I just wanted to smack Grace, but then she was in an impossible position. You can see her accepting that perhaps the daddy she loved as a child wasn't as real as she wanted him to be. Its a hard thing, as an adult to understand the imperfections of your parents. And then there was Belle, of course. So, the true measure of anyone can be summed up by how animals react to them. Both James and Cole that in common, and you can trust Belle, who is she going to impress?
The underlying story of Cass is starting to heat up and I know I can't wait to get the final installment, to see what Blue does and where the cliffhangers from this story ends up!
Not my favorite
2.5 rating. I really tried to like this story. From the beginning I was having difficulty connecting with the characters. The story did not grab me. Could not hold my interest. I’m not quite sure what it was with the story, but it barely held my interest. Cole was broken. He’s had a difficult time losing his other half. Grace was fun. I liked her bad boy struggles. I did not believe the relationship or the rushed love. I did like both characters, just not as a couple. Perhaps they were too needy. This story just didn’t work for me. Moving on to Blue’s story.
One awesome book. A must read.
OMG!! This book was FREAKING awesome. How could you not fall in love with Cole. He was hot, tattooed, UFC fighter and one sexy hot man. Did I already say that. Lol. This is a must read series. Each book is great but they get better and better as you go. Cole right off the back makes you fall for him. He is you tall dark sexy fighter who ends up begin a great guy under that tough appearance. Doc she is a fun read. She don't hold back. She fires back at Cole like its nothing. I just loved these two together. I hope we see more of them. The only down fall to this book is I wish we could have had a little more to them at the end. Where we could have seen more of them after his fight was done. Other than that this book is a must read and a must re-read. Five thumbs up!!
