He's a powerful lycan with a dark past. There's no way he'd ever notice a goody two-shoes like her…
Vanessa knows she's a pack princess. Born to carry on her bloodline, she's been cossetted and wrapped in cotton wool all her life, ready for the day the mate her pack alpha chooses will claim her. That doesn't stop her lusting after Jace Trenton, the Captain of the City Guards. A rough brawler from the streets, he's everything she wants, but there's no way he'd ever look at a pampered princess like her.
Beautiful and a noblewoman, he never thought she'd look at him twice…
Jace Trenton doesn't have a drop of noble blood in his veins, but that doesn't stop him lusting after Vanessa. He knows he's not good enough for her, that she's destined for a political mating that will bring power and prestige to her pack. But when she shows interest in him, no force on the planet will stop him claiming her.
And when her brothers machinations put her in danger, he'll do anything to protect her… Including taking on the most powerful werewolf in the city.

Will he save her and their future?
Chosen by the Wolf Captain is the third book in the Shadow Cities Shifters series. Vanessa is pack princess, groomed to be the mate of the Master, but only has eyes for Jace, the Captain of the Guard. But when her brother puts her in danger, will Jace be able to save her and their future?
This book was short and steamy! I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to read this book because so much of the events happened in the previous book in the series. This book brought the steamy connection that Vanessa and Jace have and how they got connected in the first place. I definitely was not expecting some of the intense scenes between them, but it was fun and exciting and I liked that I was surprised. Vanessa is so tired of being groomed to be the perfect mate and she really yearns for love. She has a terrible brother, by the way, so that added an interesting dynamic to her character, because you could tell she was terrified, but she wasn’t a pushover. Jace is all alpha male, loyal, and creative. His protective nature really shined in this book. I was not really surprised by any of the major events in the book, and I do have to admit that I was hoping to see some of what their happily ever after looks like, but we didn’t see that. This was not my favorite book in the series, but I do look forward to the next one!
