Publisher Description
Slapping the most powerful werewolf in the city has consequences…
Forced to attend the city's Midwinter Ball as an offering to the lord, Cyan expects a quick in and out. After all, no real werewolf would be interested in a short, plump non-shifter, would they? Certainly not Lord Veyr, the master alpha and lord of the city. He can have any woman he wants. There's no way he'd look at her twice…
But he does, naming her his midwinter choice and putting a target on her back. Is she wolf enough to survive the lycan court or will it chew her up and spit her out?
She's not just his woman. She's his mate. If he can convince her to stay…
The most powerful alpha in the city, Veyr has held his throne against all comers for many lonely years. Tired of simpering lycan princesses, he longs for a real match… a woman who will stand up to him. Getting slapped was unexpected, but he'll do anything to keep curvy little Cyan by his side and in his bed.
But lycan politics are treacherous and a single misstep costs him everything. When he discovers that Cyan isn't just avoiding him, but has forsaken the shifter way of life he knows he can't hide behind honor anymore.
But when he finds her, he realizes there's a lot more to play for than just his heart...

Alpha wolf shifter love story
I highly recommend this book to read if you like shifter romances. The characters had great chemistry and were both very likable. Also, I loved Cyan’s brother. I hope he gets his own story in the series. The initial premise of the story in which each pack has to send a tribute in the form of an eligible single shifter woman, to the alpha and he gets to eeny-meeny-miny-moe who he’s going to spread his seed to, is questionably at best, but the storyline works and works out, I promise. And it’s not cringy, I promise! It’s worth it to read past that. And it makes the story unique.
Will he be able to claim his mate?
Wolf Lord’s Tribute is the second book set within the Shadow Cities Shifters series. Cyan is the tribute from her pack to attend the Midwinter Ball. Everyone is shocked when Veyr picks her, an almost human, to be his consort. But pack politics are vicious and when secret agendas come into play, will Veyr be able to claim his mate?
This was a great book to read! Cyan and Veyr were a feisty pair, full of passion and connection, and trying their hardest to dodge the danger that surrounds them. I think one of my favorite aspects of Cyan was her self-acceptance. She knew exactly who she was, the connection she felt to her wolf, and she seemed confident in her own strengths and skin. Veyr was this mix between being cocky and confident, almost uncomfortable with the restrictions of his role, and trying to balance the needs of his people with the needs of his mate. They were dynamite together, and were able to connect in and out of the bedroom. I liked the danger that lurked in the background and exploded in the end. This book felt very different from the first book in the series, but I liked the references to the first book. This book also felt like it was two novellas kind of smashed together, instead of flowing a little more smoothly. Otherwise, this was a good book and I enjoyed reading it!
