Compelled

Ahhh, Raphael and Cyn are back. If you don't know who they are, then you should go back to the beginning....Here is the blurb from book 1: Raphael.

Soooo...After so many wonderful standalone books in the series about other vampire lords, (they all have their own territories, i.e. The West, The Northeast, ect.) We all have come to realize that the most beloved couple in the series is Cyn and Raphael, so D.B. gave us a very special treat in the form of the Cyn and Raphael Novellas. And Compelled is the 4th Novella in the series. The first three are, Betrayed, Hunted, and Unforgiven.

When we start Compelled, it is a month after Raphael was captured and almost killed, thanks to a pair of magical cuffs. Cyn received help from ex-lover, Nick. Nick is a centuries old sorcerer, who Cyn thought was a plain, old, human until he helped her rescue Raphael. But, his help came at a price, and in Compelled, it comes due.

Nick enlists Cyn...and though Nick doesn't want him, Raphael's help, in looking for the cuffs which were left behind after Raphael was rescued. This, of course, causes all sorts of tension, barbed insults and what-not to be exchanged throughout the book which our poor Cyn plays referee. But it is Cyn who is thrust into danger when the thief of the cuffs decides he wants her.

As always, D.B. Reynolds gives us another book filled with suspense, laughter, and plenty of panty-melting sex. I absolutely LOVE this series and have since Raphael first came out. And let's face it. vampires are most definitely kinky, especially these vampires. (Check out Adan, wink wink) I can never put these books down once I pick them up, forgoing sleep, food, you name it. These are some hot vampires! But don't take my word for it, Pick up Compelled and check it out for yourself!

4.5 rating. This was a little different Cyn and Raphael for me. I learned a lot about Nick, which I liked. Interesting direction for all. Raphael is so jealous of Nick. Every time Cyn spoke to, looked at or touched Nick pushed him over. He had to be all over her trying to erase Nick. It was cute. Cyn always gets in trouble. Quoting Robbie, "I can't take you no where," is right. I was surprised she went off on her own this time, because she knew nothing about magic or the dangers involved. She's usually a little smarter. She is tough. One of my favorite female leads. Looking forward to more Nick. Interesting twist. I did miss Robbie, but Elke was there.
