We’ve volunteered many thousands of hours in our community over the years, either helping non-profit organizations achieve their goals, or raise money toward those goals. Many of those hours have been setting up or assisting with concession stands or “snack bars.” As an MBA, Rick has seen many organizations making the same mistakes with their concessions, either loosing opportunities to make more money, or burning out valuable volunteers.
Because of our desire for volunteers to be efficient, and the potential we see in concessions as a fund raising option, we’ve decided to write down the experiences and insights we’ve brought to our local fundraising concession stands. We hope new concession stands will ramp quickly and efficiently because of this booklet, and that existing stand coordinators can learn a few new tricks.
