Harry Lakeman looked at the tattered sandwich in his hands and felt shocked.
He walked over to the window and reflected on his quiet surroundings. He had always loved quiet Falmouth with its agreeable, arrogant arches. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel shocked.
Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Ruth Donaldson. Ruth was a tight-fisted angel with grubby feet and dirty fingernails.
