The sinfully seductive second installment in the Amado Brothers series, Disgraced tells the story of the second Amado brother, Damon, and the young Lena Guardia. Damon is in New York City for seminary business, and is 6 months away from becoming ordained as a priest when a business meeting puts him on a collision course with the girl he could never forget. Lena Guardia is supposed to be in Chicago at school, but her family secrets drove her to leave Chicago and search out her answers in New York City. Those answers have led her into nothing but trouble, and when Damon finds her being attacked in the seedy underbelly of the subway, he begins to see just how dangerous her situation really is. Unable to stay away from one another, the stakes grow ever higher as the madman stalking her plays his final card. Will Damon fall from grace to save the woman he can’t forget?

This book was amazing. For the smokin’ hot cover, to the vague but arresting blurb, this book had me hooked from the beginning. Ms. Knight’s development of the characters was thorough, and she gave them a realism and depth that a lot of authors miss. I absolutely adored the naivety and innocence of Lina, the goodness that she seemed to emanate from her every pore, even in the most dire of situations. She never lost herself, not completely, and her heartbreak…oh, her heartbreak…it was palpable. Damon was both halves of the same avenging angel, dark and light. His belief was a deep seated part of him, but he also housed a darkness…a darkness he both craved and abhorred…a forbidden desire he is not allowed. These characters were captivating, real, and wonderful. The plot and storyline were not entirely unique, but contained twists and turns that made it distinctive, and the execution was incredible. I had a hard time putting this book down, and will be counting the days till the next release.
