There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I’m coming for you…
Carrying Death's orders is my sole duty. I've never had reason to question her, even if I disagreed. But Kyra's fierceness and willpower sheds light on my mission. She drives the darkness of my world away. The answers to the Others' goals lie in her past. For Kyra, I will risk going against Death's wishes. For her...I will battle the past and the future itself.
Each book usually uncovers something new that leads us towards the future battle that is going to happen with the Others and the Dragon Kings. What we learn in this book is a bit frustrating. I really hope what they think is not what really is.
However, I did like this pairing. I like that there was no resistance from Dubhan, and I like how smart Kyra is. She may not be a warrior but she has the mind of a leader. She thinks of things others haven't, which looks like it will help in many ways.
I'm actually getting anxious to get to the battle. It's going to be epic and it's getting harder and harder to be patient.
If you’re a fan of the Dark Kings/ Reapers (even the Highland Warriors in a way) universe this book really starts to put some more of the pieces of the puzzle together. Kyra is a perfect fit to this group of Reapers. It was really refreshing to have her just speak her mind and possibly see the bigger picture as to where this story is going. I can’t wait for the next installment which is the Dark Kings novella coming in February in 1001 Dark Nights!
Live in the Dark walk to the Light
Dubhan has lived his life in the dark. Betrayal had sealed his fate until Death made him an offer to become one of her Reapers. Kyra is a Light Fae who knows the Reapers, if she can talk to one, can help her find her aunt. Little do they suspect, they were meant to meet.
“For someone who hadn’t known what love was, he was surprised that he recognized it. Then again, something that profound wasn’t easily overlooked.”
The next installment in Donna Grant’s Reaper series carries on a storyline that had a few large plot events in the last couple of books. This one starts spooling us up for the next one. The plot line and character development are what we’ve come to expect from this author. You can’t go wrong with your one-click.
