Publisher Description
The only thing more dangerous than the monster… is the man hunting it.
I never planned to go back.
Not to Breaux Bridge. Not to the sweltering heat of the bayou, thick with secrets and shadows. And sure as hell not to him—Vincent Chiasson.
The one man I could never have…and never forgot.
But life has a way of dragging you back to where it all began. A single phone call, one tragic event, and suddenly
I’m home, drowning in memories—and heat.
Because Vincent’s still here, impossibly gorgeous, cold as stone, and more dangerous than ever.
He hunts things that shouldn’t exist. Things that crawl through the cypress in the dead of night. Monsters that feed on fear—and flesh.
And now, something is hunting me.
The beast isn’t the only thing stalking the dark. Vincent watches me with those wild eyes, like he wants to devour me whole. We’re fire and gunpowder, a decade of tension ready to ignite.
But there’s something twisted and ancient, tangled in the blood-soaked history of his family… and mine.
The deeper we go into the bayou, the more I feel it—magic, primal and seductive, coiling around us. It wants to consume us.
And I’m not sure I want to stop it.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Donna Grant’s next steamy romance is set in the bayous and filled with breathtaking romance and the mysticism of the paranormal.

Great new series!
This is a great introduction to what looks like another great series by Donna. This is a short, fast paced read but well worth it.
In this first installment we meet Vincent the eldest of the Chiasson's and his long-lost love interest Olivia. I really enjoyed reading about these two. Olivia is a strong character that although she may need saving she can still stand on her own and once she realizes what she really wants, she won't back down. Vincent is a hot, dark, and dangerous man that refuses to bring another into the dangerous world his family lives in until he realizes that there's just some things that he won't give up despite the danger.
Yes, it was short but it's a great read and there is three more Chiasson brothers left.
Good quick story!
Loved the characters!
