Publisher Description
What happened in Vegas was supposed to stay there…
Two years ago, Lydia married a stranger under neon lights, divorced him before sunrise, and walked away believing she'd never see Xander McLean again. But when the former soldier returns home after a military deployment, he discovers their divorce was never finalized—and the fiery brunette he can't forget has been hiding more than a legal technicality.
Because Xander has a daughter—a little girl with his eyes, Lydia's smile, and two years of firsts he never got to see. Furious over the lost time and unwilling to walk away again, Xander barrels back into Lydia's carefully constructed life, determined to claim his place in his daughter's world.
But beneath the surface, something sinister is beginning to unravel. Threatening messages. Strange accidents. Someone is watching Lydia—and she's become their obsession.
With fear closing in and trust hanging by a thread, Lydia and Xander find themselves caught in a dangerous game neither of them fully understands. And when the unthinkable happens, they're thrust into a desperate race against time to uncover the truth before they lose everything.
Because someone is determined to make sure this family never gets a second chance.

Devil in the Details
Very emotional book. Has a lot going on throughout it. A lot of twists and turns. A nail biter for sure. The best part of the book is that their relationship actually starts at the beginning of the book instead of towards the middle like it does with a lot of books. Lydia and Xander have a rocky relationship but they get their HEA IN THE END.
I was wondering.
Yes, it was definitely someone close to her.
I finally feel compelled to comment …
First, Dear Writer, no matter which anatomy book you consult, regardless even the century in which it originated, you will find no body part named “opening.” Or “folds.” What are you, twelve?
Second, there are innumerable instances of misspellings, incorrect usage, punctuation issues, apostrophe abuse … have I missed anything?
My advice to you, Dear Writer, is to 1) acquire at least 1 dictionary, keep it close to your work area, and use it to ensure that words really do mean what you think they do (they probably don’t, in fact); 2) acquire, and learn how to use, a thesaurus; 3) hire, and pay, an experienced and competent proofreader - and then take her advice; and 4) hire, and pay, an experienced and competent editor (who may even have a proofreader in tow!) and, again take his advice. Seriously. It is an unfortunate fact of life that the writer who attempts to proof and edit her or his own work, like the attorney who defends himself, has a fool for a client. Don’t do it!
As for the story, it’s not as bad as your Technical grade, which is why there are 3 stars for this review. In fact, I have read the series up to this point, and I’m debating whether the (flawed, technically) stories are worth the price, but it’s not looking likely right now.
