Publisher Description
At age three, Tafelina Lowell Lera Duval was disowned by her birth parents, but was that actually a blessing in disguise? Raised in a remote region of Ozeria by the kind earl of Peylon, she was allowed to hunt in a forest full of monsters, invent magic tools based on memories of her previous life, and let her extraordinary magical talents flourish.
But that all begins to change with the approach of her thirteenth birthday. As the child of a noble, she’s obligated to attend an academy meant to raise and educate the next generation of nobles. That means moving to the royal capital, a sprawling city quite unlike her beloved home.
Lera soon feels like a fish out of water, and things only get worse with kidnappings, the appearance of her half sister, and more. But Lera’s not one to be disheartened easily and that isn’t about to change!
Customer Reviews
Not bad
A little boring here and there. But it has potential. But as I look at it, not every story needs things blowing up or action every other chapter to be good.
Not truly bad, but rather dull
Apparently, I should have read the reviews and paid attention to their complaints before buying this book. It simply doesn’t seem to be doing anything with the characters’ magical & martial abilities at all really! A few humorous lines (or characters’ thoughts) do not by themselves make it a worthwhile read, sadly. — I suppose, if presented without the magical aspects, it could be a halfway decent (but by no means great) story of noble life. But even so, the MC simply waltzes through most of the story, almost like they’re a side character somehow. — Even as a slice of life story, it needs more pep, and activity from the MC. Just as the former reviewer said, there is not much of a plot… and even were this being more property touted as a slice of life story, it would still need to move a plot of some sort forward in some way!
Misleading
Very little to do with actual magic. Overwhelming about fantasy noble politics but not in an interesting way. A vomit of extremely long names and titles that have nothing to do with anything resembling a coherent plot.
