"Kylie Scott’s unique voice and engrossing story are perfect for fans of Sarah Hogle and Tessa Bailey"—Library Journal
New York Times bestselling sensation Kylie Scott’s sexy, smart and unconventional opposites-attract love story looks at what happens when fate refuses to give up on what’s meant to be…
When Susie Bowen inherits a charming fixer-upper from her aunt, she’s excited to start living her best HGTV life. But when she opens the door to find that her contractor is none other than her ex’s best friend, Lars—the same man who witnessed their humiliating public breakup six months ago—she isn’t exactly eager to have anyone around whose alliance is with the enemy. But beggars can’t be choosers, and the sooner the repairs are done, the sooner she can get back to embracing singledom.
Things go from awkward to unbelievable when Lars discovers a divorce certificate hidden in a wall and dated ten years in the future—with both their names on it. It couldn’t possibly be real…could it? As Susie and Lars work to unravel the document’s origins, the impossibility of a spark between them suddenly doesn’t seem so far-fetched. But would a relationship between them be doomed before it’s even begun?
“Sweet and spicy—the unique setup, top-notch banter and charming enigma had me hooked.” —Anna E. Collins, author of Love at First Spite
Don’t miss Kylie’s next title, THE LAST DAYS OF LILAH GOODLUCK, about a woman who unexpectedly finds "fall in love with a prince" at the top of her bucket list!
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This slightly supernatural home-renovation romance gave us butterflies—and good vibes. When Susie decides to upgrade the old, musty cottage she unexpectedly inherited from her aunt, the best contractor for the job happens to be Lars, her obnoxious ex’s best friend. But just as the awkwardness starts morphing into romantic tension, the duo makes a bizarre discovery buried behind a plaster wall: a divorce certificate dated 10 years in the future…with both of their names on it. We loved following along as Susie and Lars try to make sense of this mystery and contemplate time travel and their romantic prospects. End of Story is a steamy-fun read with a great message about always being willing to take chances.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
For this fun and raucous rom-com, Scott (Fake) places accessible characters in realistic situations then gilds the whole with just a hint of the fantastic. Fiercely independent, fashion-minded social media manager Susie is still recovering from both a bad breakup and the sudden death of her beloved aunt Susan. While dodging her brother's money-grabbing attempts, Susie gets started on remodeling the house she inherited from Aunt Susan. Unfortunately, the best contractor in Seattle just so happens to be her evil ex's best friend, Lars. While working together on the project, the pair discover a divorce certificate in the walls—with their names on it, dated 10 years in the future. In the process of unraveling the mystery, the pair grow steadily closer, opening up even deeper questions: can new friends sleep together without their hearts getting involved? Then, after feelings inevitably develop, can someone who's sworn off marriage (Susie) make it work with someone who's dreamed of marriage his whole life (Lars)? And is any of it worth it when they already know how things will end? Scott nails the pacing and delivers some delightful comedic moments, but it's her masterfully crafted characters that really set this apart. Both Susie and Lars feel like mature, fully realized people who bring their entire selves and past experiences to their relationship, and the book's focus on how they sort through their differences elevates it to the next level. This strikingly fresh romance is sure to win fans.

End of Story
First time reading this author and I really enjoyed the story. I am a little too old for the sex, but the story itself was worth wading through those parts. Great characters and storyline and an HEA to fall in love with. I would read this author again.
Fresh and Fun
Great story line. Easy to read; didn’t put it down. Lived the characters.
Loved this funny and quirky love story
End of Story is a fun and quirky love story written by Scott. If you want to catch up on how Susie starts off on her current journey than I would read the prequel Beginning of the End, but it’s not required.
Susie had been struck by tragedy many times in her life. Her parents divorced, she lost her support system in her aunt and now she’s faced with a breakup. She’s faced with a home remodel and having to get help from her ex’s best friend. With a little bit of magic and paranormal elements to this story Susie and Lars are thrown into a storm of trying to figure out how a divorce decree dated 10 years into the future bonds them together. We see them question and also try to solve the puzzle of how this happened. We see them go through hurdles to try to figure out how they fit in each others lives. We see the banter, them pushing each others buttons as they are true opposites attract. Their friendship builds, and they become one another’s safety net. Loved seeing how hope, Fate and a little destiny brought these two together.
Loved listening to this as an audiobook. The narrator Andi Arndt kept be engaged and loved the change in her voice characterizations
