The international bestselling series with over 5 million copies sold in the U.S. alone!

In the wake of Araluen's uneasy truce with the raiding Skandians comes word that the Skandian leader has been captured by a dangerous desert tribe. The Rangers - and Will - are sent to free him. But the desert is like nothing these warriors have seen before. Strangers in a strange land, they are brutalized by sandstorms, beaten by the unrelenting heat, tricked by one tribe that plays by its own rules, and surprisingly befriended by another. Like a desert mirage, nothing is as it seems. Yet one thing is constant: the bravery of the Rangers.

"Bringing together many favorite characters for a grand adventure, this book delivers both excitement and quiet good times." - Booklist

Best. Book. Ever.

This is my favorite book in my favorite series ever. John Flanagan is AMAZING and I totally idolize him.

Great Read!

Just finished reading this book and I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about it backtracking to the time before Will becomes a full fledged Ranger. However, just like all of the books before it, I could not stop reading. Lots of adventure and suspense to keep any Ranger’s Apprentice fan’s eyes glued to the pages. I am currently a college student and I have been reading this series since freshman year of highschool and still cannot get enough! Great Read I highly recommend it. On to the next book!

Scanned improperly

There is a part of the book that seems to be missing halfway through the middle. Very upsetting considering I love this series and it happened in a good part.
